Core Functions and Features:
1. Real-time monitoring of SCR and IGBT power module baseplate temperatures
Continuously monitors the temperature of the water-cooled base; the VSD logic board reads temperature values in real-time and displays the power module temperature on the control panel.2. Coordinated control of the VSD water-cooling circulation pump
Automatically starts and stops the VSD water-cooling pump and internal cabinet cooling fans based on sensor readings; reduces pump speed during low-temperature/low-load operation to save energy, and ensures effective heat dissipation during high-temperature/full-load operation to stabilize power component temperatures.
3. Tiered power/current limiting protection
When the temperature approaches the warning threshold, the VSD automatically limits the compressor output current and reduces speed to prevent accelerated aging of power components caused by sustained high temperatures.
4. Hardware-based over-temperature shutdown protection
If the temperature exceeds the safe upper limit, the logic board immediately blocks SCR and IGBT drive pulses, shuts down the compressor, and reports a “VSD POWER MOD OVER TEMP” fault code; this prevents thermal breakdown of SCRs or IGBTs that could otherwise lead to the destruction of DC bus capacitors and fast-acting fuses.
5. Fault self-diagnosis and reporting
In the event of sensor wire breakage, short circuits, or wiring harness corrosion, the VSD self-check function immediately reports a temperature sensor fault and prevents the unit from starting, enabling rapid identification of the fault location for maintenance.
6. Unit operation data logging and traceability
Temperature data is stored in the VSD’s fault memory chip; historical high-temperature records can be retrieved to troubleshoot the root causes of cooling failures, such as blockages in the water-cooling circuit or insufficient cooling water flow.

Product Installation, Replacement, and Precautions
1. Disconnect power to the entire unit and allow the high-capacity DC bus capacitors to discharge for at least 30 minutes to prevent electric shock from the 700V high-voltage supply.
2. When removing the old probe, clean any oil or deposits from the water-cooled base surface to ensure the new probe sits flush against the metal surface.
3. The supplied thermal conductive silicone pad must be used; direct installation without the pad is prohibited, as it can cause inaccurate temperature readings and false over-temperature alarms.
4. Secure the probe firmly using the metal clip; unit vibration can cause the probe to detach and lead to temperature sensing failure.
5. Route the wiring harness away from SCR and IGBT power busbars to prevent heat-induced aging or damage to the wire insulation.
6. Fully insert the waterproof connector and lock the latch to prevent moisture ingress and terminal corrosion.
7. After replacement, run the VSD at no-load to verify stable power module temperatures; proceed to load operation only after confirming there are no over-temperature faults.
8. In the event of frequent over-temperature alarms, check the water-cooling circuit for blockages or insufficient coolant flow.
