Brand new, in-stock Carrier 00PSY111601700 (external oil strainer/filter)—commercial compressor refrigeration accessory.

Part number 00PSY111601700 designates an external oil filter assembly (main oil circuit filter) for Carrier CVHE, CVHG, CVGF, and CVGD series water-cooled centrifugal chillers. It is designed for use with units featuring UCP3 or CH530 control systems, 02XR series oil pumps, and the complete lubrication/load regulation mechanism (including the BRG01340 guide vane actuator and LEV00092 linkage).
The unit features a steel housing containing a high-precision fiberglass composite filter element. Installed in series within the high-pressure oil discharge line, it continuously filters POE refrigeration oil, capturing metal debris, welding slag, and sludge impurities. This protects precision moving components such as high-speed main shaft bearings, guide vane bearings, guide vane drive mechanisms, and hydraulic slide valves. Issues such as filter element clogging, housing leakage, or mesh damage can lead to excessive oil pressure differentials, insufficient oil pump output, low oil pressure trips, and guide vane sticking or surging; consequently, this is a critical fluid filtration component that must be replaced during centrifugal chiller overhauls.

Precautions for product installation and replacement:
1. Shut down the entire unit, stop the oil pump, allow the lubricating oil to cool and depressurize sufficiently, and close the oil circuit valves before removing the filter;
2. Clean sludge and metal debris from the pipe threads; if particulate matter enters the new filter element, it can quickly tear the fiberglass filter media;
3. Apply a small amount of PTFE tape to the threads; do not use excessive tape, as it could enter the oil circuit and clog the filter element;
4. Ensure the flow direction indicated on the filter housing matches the oil circuit flow; reverse installation will render filtration ineffective and cause a sharp rise in differential pressure;
5. Always use the supplied new FKM gasket; do not reuse old or worn gaskets, as this may lead to oil leakage;
6. Manually start the oil pump and verify that the oil pressure stabilizes between 1.4 and 2.8 bar and the differential pressure reading is normal; ensure the unit loads without surging or triggering high-temperature load-limiting faults.

Typical product fault symptoms:
1. Persistent excessive differential pressure in the lubrication oil circuit; panel indicates a need for oil filter maintenance; low oil pressure at full load and severe fluctuations in differential pressure.
2. Filter element completely clogged; bypass valve stuck open; lubricating oil contains significant metal particulates, causing rapid wear on the main shaft and guide vane bearings.
3. Aging and leakage of the housing O-ring; slow leakage of refrigeration oil from threaded connections; continuous drop in oil reservoir level; low oil differential pressure alarm.
4. Damage to the fiberglass filter element; impurities entering the guide vane mechanism directly, causing guide vane jamming, unit surging, and failure to achieve required cooling capacity.
5. Clogging of oil inlet/outlet threaded connections; increased oil pump load and high current draw; slow oil pressure buildup during compressor pre-lubrication.
