The 026-32831-000 is an integrated, compressor-internal oil filter element designed for Johnson Controls YS water-cooled screw chillers and YK/YKK magnetic-bearing centrifugal chillers. While early versions featured high-temperature-resistant engineering plastic end caps, later versions were upgraded to steel end caps.
The unit is fully submerged in the POE refrigeration oil within the compressor crankcase and installed at the oil pump's suction inlet. It utilizes a 10μm multi-layer pleated fiberglass filtration medium supported by dual-layer galvanized steel mesh to capture metal wear particles, rust dust, sludge, and carbon deposits, thereby supplying clean lubricating oil to the screw rotors and high-speed centrifugal spindle bearings. Featuring a non-disassemblable, integrated design, the entire unit is replaced once the filter medium reaches its contaminant-holding capacity or becomes damaged.

1. Multi-layer pleated HV glass fiber filter media
Features an imported ultra-fine pleated glass fiber filtration layer with a total filtration area of ​​520 square inches and high contaminant-holding capacity. Bonded with oil-resistant epoxy resin, the structure withstands thermal cycling between -35°C and 115°C without cracking or shedding fibers into the oil circuit.

The outer steel mesh acts as a coarse pre-filter, blocking large welding slag and rust particles from damaging the glass fiber; the inner steel core withstands negative pressure within the oil circuit, preventing the filter media from collapsing inward and blocking the suction path, thereby ensuring stable oil pump flow.
3. Fluid flow characteristics
Designed for unidirectional “outside-in” flow, ensuring all oil passes through the filter media. The initial pressure drop for a new filter element is <0.25 bar; there is no oil pressure drop under full-load operation, preventing low-pressure protection shutdowns.
