York 025-41756-002 Pressure Sensor: Core Functions
1. Precise Monitoring of Suction / Low-Pressure Side
Specifically designed to measure pressure at the evaporator outlet and compressor suction port; calculates corresponding saturation temperatures to prevent low-pressure trips, evaporator freezing, and suction superheating.
When paired with a high-pressure sensor, it calculates pressure ratios, pressure differentials, and superheat levels, providing essential data for the precise regulation of guide vanes or slide valves.
2. System Protection (Core Safety Feature)
Low-Pressure Protection: Triggers an alarm or system shutdown if pressure drops below a preset threshold (e.g., 20 PSIG), preventing evaporator freezing and compressor oil starvation.
Suction Superheat Protection: Detects abnormal pressure readings—and consequently abnormal saturation temperatures—to provide early warnings regarding liquid carryover in the return gas and the risk of liquid slugging.
Flow / Load Monitoring: Pressure fluctuations serve as indicators of anomalies in water or refrigerant flow, clogged filters, or valve malfunctions.
3. Control and Energy Efficiency
Capacity Modulation: For centrifugal chillers, guide vanes—and for screw chillers, slide valves—automatically adjust to match the system load based on suction pressure, thereby stabilizing the chilled water outlet temperature and reducing energy consumption.
Fault Diagnosis: Detects signal drift, signal stagnation, or sudden signal jumps to provide early warnings regarding sensor aging, connector leaks, damaged wiring harnesses, or main controller malfunctions.
4. High Reliability
All-Stainless Steel Housing: Highly resistant to vibration and corrosion; compatible with refrigerants such as R134a, R513A, and R407C.
Laser Welding + Hermetic Sealing: Ensures long-term leak-free operation and provides excellent resistance to temperature extremes and aging.
Factory Calibrated: Operates on a 5VDC power supply with a linear output range of 0.5–4.5V; features “plug-and-play” functionality requiring no field calibration.

Common Product Faults and Replacement Criteria
1. Signal fixed at 0.5V: Short circuit on the low-voltage side / Damaged sensor;
2. Signal fixed at 4.5V: Open circuit on the high-voltage side / Damaged sensor;
3. Drifting readings / Significant fluctuations: Leaking connector, aged seals, loosening due to vibration;
4. Exceeded service life (≥5 years): Zero-point drift, reduced accuracy; preventive replacement recommended.
