1. Precise Low-Side Pressure Monitoring (Core Function)
It captures real-time pressure readings at the evaporator outlet, compressor suction port, and economizer. It converts these physical pressure values ​​into a standard 0.5–4.5 VDC voltage signal, which is fed back to the main control board for use in superheat calculations, capacity modulation, and low-pressure protection.
2. Suction Pressure Control and Liquid Slug Prevention
Working in conjunction with the electronic expansion valve and temperature sensors, it employs closed-loop control to stabilize suction pressure. This prevents issues caused by excessively low pressure—such as frosting or icing—and protects the compressor from liquid slugging caused by excessively high pressure, thereby ensuring the compressor’s safety and operational efficiency.
3. Stable Output Across a Wide Temperature Range; High-Precision Feedback
Featuring ±0.25% FS high accuracy and a rapid 20 ms response time, the sensor exhibits minimal temperature drift across its entire operating range. This ensures precise pressure data acquisition from low-load (10%) to full-load conditions, facilitating the efficient and stable operation of the chiller unit.
4. Compatibility with Multiple Models; Plug-and-Play Integration with Main Controls
The signal output is fully compatible with York OPTIVIEW and YS series main control systems, allowing for direct replacement without the need for recalibration. It is compatible with low-side pressure monitoring applications in both centrifugal and screw-type chiller units.
5. Fault Diagnosis and Integrated Protection
In the event of an open circuit, short circuit, or signal drift within the sensor, the main control system will trigger a pressure sensor fault alarm. This initiates load reduction or unit shutdown protection protocols, thereby preventing false alarms, insufficient cooling capacity, and excessive energy consumption.
