Core Functions of the York 025-30440-000 Temperature Sensor
1. Real-time Oil Temperature Monitoring (Core Function)
It captures real-time oil temperature readings from the compressor oil separator or compressor casing, converts them into a 10K NTC resistance signal, and transmits this data to the main controller. The system then displays the numerical oil temperature value and plots a temperature curve, enabling operations and maintenance personnel to effectively monitor the status of the lubrication system.
2. High-Temperature Protection (Preventing Bearing Burnout)
When the oil temperature reaches or exceeds 65°C (adjustable threshold), the main controller triggers a high-temperature warning. If the temperature reaches or exceeds 75°C, the system initiates a mandatory protective shutdown to prevent high-temperature carbonization of the oil, lubrication failure, bearing burnout, and rotor seizure.
3. Low-Temperature Preheating Control (Preventing Inadequate Lubrication)
If the oil temperature is below 25°C at the time of unit startup, the main controller activates the oil heater. The compressor is permitted to accept load only after the oil temperature has risen to 35°C, thereby preventing issues such as insufficient lubrication, accelerated wear, and startup overload caused by high-viscosity oil at low temperatures.
4. Oil Pressure Interlock and Capacity Regulation
The system dynamically interlocks oil temperature with oil pressure: Low oil temperature leads to high viscosity and consequently high oil pressure, prompting the main controller to automatically reduce speed or unload the compressor; conversely, high oil temperature leads to low viscosity and low oil pressure, prompting an increase in speed or load. This process stabilizes the oil pressure within the 0.2–0.5 MPa range, thereby optimizing both lubrication and energy efficiency.
5. Fault Self-Diagnosis and Alarming
In the event of an open circuit, short circuit, or signal drift within the sensor, the main controller immediately reports an oil temperature sensor fault. It initiates a protective shutdown and prompts for sensor replacement, thereby preventing erroneous protective shutdowns or—conversely—unprotected operation resulting from inaccurate temperature measurements.

Common Product Faults and Replacement Indicators
1. Oil temperature displays “–” or reports an open circuit: Internal sensor wiring severed, cable breakage, or loose connector plug.
2. Oil temperature displays 0°C or reports a short circuit: Internal sensor short circuit, corrosion caused by water or oil ingress, or water ingress into the connector plug.
3. Inaccurate or highly fluctuating oil temperature readings: Resistance drift, probe scaling or aging, or temperature deviation exceeding ±2°C at high or low temperatures.
4. False high-temperature alarms / Failure to alarm: Sensor precision failure, resistance value drift, or abnormal triggering of protection thresholds.
5. Aged/damaged connector plug or oil leakage: Connector seal failure, or cable hardening and cracking; requires complete unit replacement.
