The 7384-188 is a built-in cylindrical oil filter element designed for McQuay semi-hermetic single-screw and small centrifugal chiller units. It comes with a matching fluoroelastomer (FKM) O-ring and is installed within the internal oil circuit at the bottom of the compressor's oil reservoir, serving as a primary precision filtration component of the lubrication system.
It utilizes multi-layer pleated imported fiberglass filter media supported by an all-metal framework. Refrigeration oil drawn by the oil pump must pass through this filter to trap metal wear particles, welding slag, sludge, and carbon deposits; the resulting clean oil is supplied to the rotors, bearings, and oil cooler, thereby reducing compressor wear and extending the service life of the oil.

Product failure symptoms:
