Carrier G8TB0884 Oil Supply Solenoid Valve: Core Functions
1. Compressor Oil Supply Control
Energizes and opens upon unit startup to supply oil to the compressor bearings, rotor, and slide valve;
De-energizes and closes upon unit shutdown to prevent lubricant backflow and abnormal oil levels.
2. Compressor Protection
Ensures adequate lubrication to prevent dry friction, shaft seizure, and bearing burnout;
Cuts off the oil circuit upon shutdown to mitigate the risks of oil flooding and liquid slugging.
3. System Safety Interlock
Interlocks with the main control board to trigger an alarm and initiate a shutdown in the event of a fault (e.g., low oil pressure or coil damage).

Installation and Replacement Guidelines
1. Safety Precautions: Disconnect power → Relieve oil pressure → Proceed with disassembly only after confirming that pressure has been fully released.
2. Sealing Components: When replacing the unit, the O-rings and gaskets must also be replaced with new ones to prevent oil leakage.
3. Installation Torque: Tighten the flange bolts evenly in a diagonal pattern; the recommended torque is 8–10 N·m.
4. Power-On Testing: Upon powering up, listen for the sound of the solenoid engaging and observe the oil pressure to ensure it stabilizes (typically between 0.6–1.2 MPa).
