The 034G2602 is a large-bore, pressure-balanced electronic expansion valve (EEV) from the ETS250 series; it serves as the standard factory-equipped evaporator expansion valve for Carrier 30HXC and 30HXY high-capacity water-cooled screw chillers. This unit features a bi-directional, pressure-balanced valve body driven by an integrated four-phase, five-wire stepper motor. It receives PID-calculated superheat signals from the chiller's UCP2 main controller to precisely and continuously modulate refrigerant flow, replacing traditional thermostatic expansion valves. It includes a built-in moisture-indicating sight glass for visual monitoring of system moisture levels. Issues such as valve core sticking or stepper motor burnout can lead to evaporator icing, liquid hammer in the compressor, insufficient cooling capacity, and EXV fault alarms.

Installation and Precautions:
Before cutting the copper piping of the old valve body, shut down the unit, recover the refrigerant, and fully depressurize the system; brazing under pressure is strictly prohibited.

During welding, the stepper motor drive head must be completely wrapped in a wet towel; high temperatures can damage the insulation of the internal windings.

Replace the filter-drier whenever the valve body is replaced to remove metallic impurities from the system and prevent the new valve core from jamming.

Ensure the M12 waterproof wiring harness connector is fully locked; unit vibration can easily cause loose connections and erratic valve regulation.

After assembly, evacuate the system, charge it with the standard amount of refrigerant, power on the unit, and execute the EXV zero-point automatic calibration procedure.

Strictly observe model selection requirements: high-capacity units (180 RT and above) must use model 034G2602; substituting the low-flow model 034G2600 is prohibited.
