The 02XR05009701 is a straight-through brass manual shut-off valve designed specifically for Carrier 02XR series (including 19XR and 19XL) large centrifugal chillers. It features a forged brass body with an integrated extended stem and a standard charging/service port, serving as a sectional isolation valve for maintenance within the refrigeration system.
The valve utilizes a lift-type disc with a PTFE seal, features external threaded pipe connections, and is operated via a rotary handwheel. It is installed on high/low-pressure refrigerant lines, lubrication oil lines, and receiver branch lines. During maintenance tasks—such as replacing filter-driers or oil filters, or recovering refrigerant—the valve allows for complete pipeline shut-off and localized isolation and depressurization. This eliminates the need to evacuate the entire system's refrigerant charge, thereby significantly reducing refrigerant loss and maintenance labor time.
It employs a purely mechanical manual design with no electrical components. In the event of valve seat seal wear, body leakage, or stem seizure, the entire unit must be replaced; the internal valve core assembly cannot be disassembled or repaired individually.
