Yk 3-Way Valve 025-16988-000 — Repair Part for Refrigeration and Heat Exchange Equipment

The 025-16988-000 is a genuine York 2-position, 3-way pilot-operated solenoid valve. It is specifically designed for use with York YK/YS centrifugal and screw chiller units, serving critical functions within the oil pressure, refrigerant bypass, load/unload, and high/low-pressure bypass circuits. Driven by a solenoid coil, the valve spool rapidly switches the flow direction of gas or refrigerant to facilitate unit capacity unloading and regulation, oil circuit pressure maintenance, bypass pressure relief, compressor start-up/shut-down protection, and high/low-pressure equalization switching. As such, it serves as a core automation component for hydraulic control, capacity unloading, and safety interlock systems within York chiller units.

York 025-16988-000 3-Way Solenoid Valve: Core Functions and Unit Operation
1. Compressor Capacity Unloading Control: Automatically bypasses to relieve pressure during low-load operation or unit shutdown, thereby reducing compressor load and preventing liquid slugging and low-pressure surging.
2. Oil Circuit Pressure Control: Regulates the bypass flow for both oil supply and oil return lines to stabilize oil pressure and ensure proper bearing lubrication.
3. High/Low-Pressure Bypass Balancing: Balances the pressure differential between the high and low-pressure sides during unit startup, shutdown, and defrosting cycles, thereby protecting the compressor and expansion valve.
4. Safety Interlock Protection: Rapidly actuates to reverse flow and relieve pressure in response to high temperatures, high pressures, or other abnormal operating conditions, triggering a protective shutdown of the unit.
5. Valve Reversing and Switching: Facilitates switching within the oil circuit and between redundant piping lines, allowing for changes in operating mode without the need for physical modification of the piping system.

Product Replacement Guidelines
1. You must use the genuine manufacturer part 025-16988-000; the use of non-standard substitutes is strictly prohibited. Note that 120V components must not be interchanged with 220V valve components.

2. Before replacement, depressurize the system and disconnect the power supply. Clean any impurities from the piping and install a brand-new sealing gasket.

3. Ensure that wiring connections strictly correspond to the correct positive and negative terminals. Wrap the connections with waterproof insulating tape to prevent short circuits.

4. After installation, perform a pressure-holding test to check for leaks. Conduct a no-load test run to confirm that the loading/unloading switching functions correctly before proceeding to full-load operation.
