Carrier 30GB660002 Temperature Sensor — Core Functions (Multi-Scenario Temperature Sensing + System Protection + Energy Efficiency Control)
1. Inlet / Outlet Water Temperature (EWT/LWT) Monitoring
Installed in the evaporator/condenser water piping, this sensor monitors water temperature in real-time. Based on this data, the main control board adjusts compressor capacity and regulates water valves to stabilize the outlet water temperature, ensuring energy-efficient and high-performance operation.
2. Ambient Temperature (OAT) Monitoring
Installed on the exterior of the unit, this sensor detects the outdoor ambient temperature, facilitating fan speed modulation, defrost control, and unit load limitation.
3. Return Gas Temperature (RGTA) Monitoring
Installed on the compressor return gas line, this sensor monitors the return gas superheat temperature to prevent liquid slugging and compressor overheating, thereby ensuring operational safety.
4. Fault Protection and Alarms
In the event of temperature anomalies (excessively high/low, open circuit, or short circuit), the unit immediately triggers an alarm and shuts down to protect the compressor and other system components.

Product Installation and Maintenance Guidelines
1. Installation (Waterproofing and Securing; Precise Temperature Measurement)
Probe Installation: Insert the probe into the temperature-sensing sleeve or the blind hole of the water pipe. Apply thermal paste to ensure good contact. Avoid direct contact with the pipe wall to prevent erroneous readings.
Cable Routing: Route cables away from the compressor, frequency converter, and power lines (maintain a separation of ≥20 cm). Ground the cable shielding at one end only (at the main control board side) to minimize interference.
2. Securing: Secure cables using cable ties, ensuring sufficient slack is left to prevent breakage caused by vibration. Ensure waterproof sealing is properly applied at all connection points.
3. Maintenance (Perform every 2 years / 10,000 hours, or in the event of a fault)
4. Inspection: Verify that the probe shows no signs of corrosion, scale buildup, or physical damage. Check cables for signs of aging, damage, or oil contamination. Inspect connectors for oxidation, looseness, or water ingress.
5. Testing: Measure resistance using a multimeter (approx. 10 kΩ at 25°C); the resistance value should change smoothly as the temperature varies. Compare the measured value against the reading displayed on the main control board; a deviation of ≤0.5°C is considered normal.
6. Replacement: In the event of an anomaly, replace the entire assembly with genuine OEM parts. Do not substitute with standard NTC thermistors, as their B-values and accuracy specifications will not match.
