Brand New Carrier 00PPG000018200 Solenoid Valve — A/C Valve Repair Part & Refrigeration Compressor Accessory

00PPG000018200 is a Carrier oil circuit control solenoid valve (normally closed type) for screw compressors, serving as a core hydraulic control component within the 30XW series of water-cooled screw chiller units. It functions to control the flow of compressor lubricating oil—regulating its supply and cutoff—as well as managing unloading/loading adjustments and oil flow protection. By ensuring the stability of the screw compressor's lubrication system and preventing damage caused by oil loss, it acts as a critical actuating element for both the lubrication and capacity control systems in Carrier's large-scale commercial chiller units.

Carrier 00PPG000018200 Solenoid Valve — Core Functions:
1. Compressor Lubrication Control (Core Function)
Energizes and opens upon unit startup to provide forced oil lubrication to the screw compressor’s bearings, rotors, and slide valve; de-energizes and closes during shutdown or system faults to cut off oil flow, preventing excessive oil ingress into the compressor chamber and thereby avoiding liquid slugging or oil flooding.
2. Capacity Unloading / Loading Regulation
Working in conjunction with the main control board and the unloading slide valve, the solenoid valve controls oil pressure to achieve stepless compressor capacity modulation from 0% to 100%: Energizing initiates loading (capacity increase), while de-energizing initiates unloading (capacity reduction), thereby precisely matching the unit’s load requirements and optimizing energy efficiency.
3. Oil Circuit Safety Protection
In the event of anomalies (low oil pressure, high oil temperature, or low oil level), the valve rapidly de-energizes and closes to cut off the oil supply and trigger a protective shutdown, preventing oil-starvation wear on the compressor, bearing burnout, or rotor seizure, thereby safeguarding critical components.
4. Refrigerant Circuit Auxiliary Control
Under certain operating conditions, it also functions as an on/off valve within the refrigerant piping, controlling the flow direction of liquid refrigerant to assist with system startup/shutdown, defrosting, and high/low-pressure protection, thereby enhancing overall system stability.

Common Product Faults and Replacement Indicators
1. Compressor Fails to Load / Frequent Unloading: Stuck solenoid valve, worn valve spool, fatigued spring, or coil failure; abnormal oil pressure control.
2. Oil Circuit Leakage (Oil Seepage at Valve Body / Fittings): Aging seals, cracks in the valve body, or leaks at weld joints, resulting in low oil pressure and insufficient lubrication.
3. Burnt-out Coil (No Power / Abnormal Noise): Unstable voltage, electrical overload, or aging insulation, preventing solenoid valve actuation and blocking oil flow.
4. Compressor Reports Low Oil Pressure / Oil Loss Fault: Solenoid valve fails to open or oil flow is obstructed, leading to insufficient lubrication of bearings and rotors.
5. Massive Oil Ingress into Compressor After Shutdown (Oil Flooding): Solenoid valve fails to close tightly or suffers from internal leakage, causing oil to backflow into the compressor upon shutdown.
